If you are performing electrical work at UniSQ, you must hold a current and valid electrician’s licence. You’ll need to provide proof of this certification as part of the induction process. This requirement ensures compliance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002 and relevant safety standards. All equipment and appliances—whether plugged in or direct-wired—must be connected to an approved Residual Current Device (RCD) unless they are double insulated. You are responsible for providing RCD (also known as ELCB or Safety Switch) protection that is independent of UniSQ’s electrical supply.

Before bringing any electrical equipment on site, ensure it is:

 • Tagged in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act 2002
