Purpose and Introduction

​This induction outlines UniSQ’s expectations for all individuals or organisations engaged under a contract to provide services to the University, excluding employees. These individuals will be referred to collectively as “contractors” in alignment with UniSQ’s Contractor Management Procedure (CMP).

This includes:
 •  Service providers engaged under a fixed price contract
 •  Consultants providing professional or academic services
 •  Temporary or contingent workers
 •  Contractors involved in capital or infrastructure works
 •  Principal contractors (e.g. for construction projects)
 •  Subcontractors engaged by other contractors
 •  Event setup and management suppliers 

The induction ensures compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and promotes a safe, respectful, and environmentally responsible workplace across all UniSQ campuses: Toowoomba, Ipswich, Springfield, and Brisbane.

UniSQ is committed to achieving strong health and safety outcomes and complying with all relevant WHS legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and applicable Codes of Practice is set out in the UniSQ Workplace Health and Safety Policy. All contractors must comply with relevant legislation as well as UniSQ’s internal policies and procedures.
